Self drive to Amakhala Game Reserve for a guided Day Safari!

Feel the heartbeat and rhythm of Africa as you become part of a Big 5 Safari Adventure. 

Guided by an experienced Ranger on an open Land Rover, Leeuwenbosch Country House offers an experience aimed at providing visitors with an immersion into the diverse wildlife and landscape including: The Big 5, Black Wildebeest, Cheetah, Giraffe, Zebra and numerous other antelope. Guided walks are also available.

Easily accessible from Port Elizabeth, Grahamstown and Addo, the Day Safaris run daily.

Day Safari 

• 01 Sept 2024 to 30 April 2026: R 2,150 per person
• 01 May 2026 to 31 Aug 2026: R 2,150 per person

Itinerary: 

• Follow the N2 from Port Elizabeth towards Grahamstown for approximately 60 km.
• Look out for the R342 turn-off to Paterson — continue for about 2 km past that turn-off.
• About 1 km before the R342 Karel Landman right-hand turn-off, you’ll see the main entrance gate to Leeuwenbosch on your right.
• Enter through the main gate and park on the grass to the left. Staff will meet you there and walk you up to the Safari Day Centre (ARCC).

• Children 6 years and older welcome. 
• Children 6 - 12 years pay 50% of adult sharing rate.
• Maximum of 2 children per adult per booking.

• Bookings are essential and need to be made a minimum of 48 hours in advance. 

Cancellation Policy

• More than 7 days – no cancellation fee 
• 7 days or less – 25% cancellation fee
• 3 days or less – 50% cancellation fee 
• 48 hours or less – 100% cancellation fee
